Sometimes it is useful to involve a neutral person to facilitate difficult negotiations or conflicts.

Mediation is an intervention to get two or more persons in a conflict back into dialogue to find a solution fitting all parties. Mediation is helpful in cases in which communication has been disrupted or if there are obstacles for direct meetings between parties.

V&V can act as a neutral third person supporting both parties in their search for a solution acceptable for all. The parties stay completely in control concerning the conflict issues. The mediator facilitates the dialogue, the parties stay responsible for the result.

The mediation procedure normally consists of the mediator meeting both parties seperately and then facilitating a series of common meetings with the parties. Mediation is a relatively quick procedure leading to clear agreements.

For mediation V&V adheres to the rules of the Dutch Mediation Institute (NMI) and the German Federal Mediation Organization (BM).
