    Conflict Resolution

I offer mediation between two parties as well as ways to address conflicts in a team, when necessary in international and intercultural settings.

    Mediation

Mediation is a structured process in which the parties search for a solution to their problems under the guidance of an independent third party. The mediator facilitates the process, the persons involved stay in control over the disputed contents and decide themselves over the outcome. Mediation is directed towards finding a solution that addresses interests of all parties involved. It is especially helpful when the two parties have a future relationship. A succesful mediation is a quick, cost-friendly, and thorough approach to resolving conflicts. Mediation involves several meetings with the conflict parties.

    Conflicts in organizations and teams

Mediation can also be part of a larger process like organizational change. A conflict in an organization or a team is often a symptom of something else: like structural problems, different expectations or cooperation diffulties. In such cases, I address the conflict as a chance for change and offer methods related to team development and organization development. The core idea applies: the persons involved stay responsable for the outcome. I support the process. In dealing with organizational change, mediation is an important working method to be used when necessary.

    Conflict contexts

Sometimes the conflict is not in the organization or the team, but a part of the context. These kind of situations are typical for companies or NGOs working in crisis regions. The context has always its impact on the organization and the way projects are implemented. If necessary I facilitate processes to evaluate projects, develop and design new strategies and projects involving the stakeholders.
